Giveaway :: How To Sew Denim eBook

Hey guys! Today I'm back with a very unique giveaway that is super sew-eet for all you seamstresses out there! :) Today I'm pleased to introduce you to a very sweet young lady whom I've had the pleasure of getting to know through the blogging world. Her name is Miss Olivia and she blogs over at Fresh Modesty and Working With Eager Hands. Both blogs have been such a blessing to me, and I always enjoy reading her lovely posts. She mainly blogs about modesty, sewing and related topics. I highly suggest you check out both of her blogs and follow her as she has some lovely things over there you won't want to miss!

Olivia has now published two wonderful eBooks that assist young ladies desiring to sew modest clothing. Her first eBook was called Fresh Modesty and is a eBook that shows you step by step, how to sew your own modest swimsuit! Her second book was just recently released and is called How To Sew Denim and is a step by step guide on sewing with denim and also features TWO skirt patterns complete with pictures! How cool is that? I personally love to sew {at least, that is when I can get my sewing machine to work, currently it's broken. :( But hopefully I can change that in the near future} and so for all you other sewers out there, you'll for sure want to enter this giveaway!

About The eBook ::
{Taken from the website} Fresh Modesty: How To Sew Denim is a 63-page eBook chock full of step-by-step color pictures and instructions for creating both The Destination Skirt and The Errand #17 Skirt, which are denim skirts that are incredibly versatile and flattering. The eBook features instructions for creating these two styles of modest denim skirts that both feature a flattering and functional wide waistband with front fly detail and optional side and back pockets.

According to the Global Denim Project, “On any given day nearly half the world's population is wearing blue jeans.” That’s a lot of denim! Yet, why is it hard to find a modest, stylish, flattering skirt that resembles jeans for those of us who like skirts? And forget cheap.

There’s an answer, if you’re willing to exchange some elbow grease for affordability! This eBook guides you each step of the way, making it easy to craft a custom denim skirt for you or a friend. Is denim hard to work with? Not at all! It is thicker than most fabrics, but it has little stretch, is very forgiving, and oh so durable. These skirts last forever and only get better with wear. Denim has the unique quality of becoming more attractive the more worn it gets. For these skirts, that means the waistband conforms to flatter and fit you exactly, the seams are accentuated by fading in the relaxed, fabulous style of “authenticity” as it is called in the fashion world, and the skirt’s hang remains modest and complimentary.

This eBook includes premade patterns (one size) for both skirts with instructions and plenty of pictures for how to customize and draft for your own measurements. Because it gives you the ability to draft your own pattern specific to you, this is for all sizes of women. It might work for a young girl as well, but the style of the waistband works best on girls with hips.

Denim is an awesome fabric. In the eBook, I discuss what kinds/weights of denim to buy and where online to buy it if you can’t find it in stores, so you can be informed. Although it’s durability makes it worth it, denim isn’t the cheapest material ever, so I include diagrams of how to make the most of your fabric. If you have any doubt of denim's super practical style, you can go here to see some of the outfits I wear my skirts with.

Here is some info about the two feminine skirt patterns that come in the eBook:

{The Destination Skirt}
The Destination Skirt
The Destination Skirt is an all-around perfect skirt. The 8 gores make it fitted so your style options are limitless, yet it’s modest and functional. In summer, it keeps you nice and cool with very little bulk, and in winter it's darling with leggings and boots without being fussy. Make it in dark denim for an all-occasion skirt and in a light wash with some distressing for the summer beach trip.

{The Errand #17 Skirt}

 The Errand #17 Skirt
The Errand #17 Skirt is the perfect shopping day skirt! (Well, actually, so is The Destination Skirt!) Made with a 10 oz denim, it is amazingly wrinkle free for those in-and-out-of-the-car days. The front pockets are perfect for your phone and keys, while still flattering and fuss-free. Make this floor length skirt a little flowier and it’s a perfect for a summer romp through the fields.
