Ipsy December 2013 // Celebration!

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share with you about a fun company I've recently come across called Ipsy which is a monthly beauty subscription service. The way Ipsy works is it's $10 a month (shipping is free unless you live outside of the U.S.) and they send you five high-end beauty products each month. The neat thing about this subscription service - and what made me want to subscribe over other similar services such as Birchbox - is that Ipsy usually sends full sized products, and if they aren't full sized they are deluxe samples. Other beauty subscription services that I've looked into usually just send tiny samples, but with Ipsy I've gotten mostly full sized high end beauty products, and each month's bag always pays for itself several times over with the value of the bag compared to the $10 price. For example this month's bag only cost me $10, but when I added up the price of the items I got I realized that this bag would have cost around $60 to buy the items separately, and this doesn't include the cute black bag!

FALLing Into Fall // Day 1: FALLing Into Fall Tag!

Hello Friends!

Are you excited about the start of this blog party? I sure am!

So to kick things off, I thought it'd be fun to start the party with a little tag, so you guys can get to know me, and I can get to know you! And since this party is all about autumn, of course the tag will be autumn themed! :) First I'll share the questions to the tag as well as my answers, and then at the end of the post I'll give you an opportunity to participate by answering the tag questions on your own blog! And if you participate in the tag on your blog by posting your answers, you'll get extra entries in all the giveaways during the party, so it's a win-win situation! So here we go, here's my answers to the tag!

// FALLing Into Fall Tag! //

1} What's your favorite season? Why? (Don't be afraid to answer some season other than fall, if it's truly is your favorite season!)

My favorite season is for sure autumn. *Surprise!* =) I love this season for a lot of reasons, but mainly because of the cooler sweater weather and the holidays that come with it; and all the quality family time. Plus, whenever fall comes I just always feel so much happier; it's as if God decided to bless me with a cooler day, and that just somehow makes me super happy, and it lifts my spirits. It's hard to explain, but if you've experienced it yourself, then you know what I'm talking about. =)

F A L L ing Into Fall Blog Event Announcememnt!

Hello Friends!

First off, I'd like to apologize for the lack of posting around this blog. I knew it had been a while since I'd posted a review or giveaway, but didn't realize it had been several months until I actually checked. Needless to say, my life has been quite busy these past couple months, and that was the biggest reason for the unplanned blogging break which lasted quite longer than I'd have liked.

However I'm really pumped about getting back into the groove of things with beginning to post more regularly. So to officially end my blogging break, I have a very special surprise for you all! I've got a very special series of posts that are currently in the works of being planned, and I am super excited to announce it to you all today!

I don't know about you, but I am a total fall kinda girl. There are some people who, when asked their favorite season, reply with whatever season we are currently in, because it's hard to decided between the four. But not me. Nope! I have always soundly replied "Autumn" and have never changed from this answer just because I'm very much in love with this season! I just LOVE autumn! I mean between the lovely colors, cooler weather, the fun clothing, as well as fond scents that this season brings, it just makes me a total nut for anything related to autumn. :)

Title: The Backyard Homestead

Number Of Pages: 368
ISBN: 1603421386
Publisher: Storey Publishing
Publication Date: February 2009

Book Description {Taken From GoodReads):
"Put your backyard to work! Enjoy fresher, organic, better-tasting food all the time. The solution is as close as your own backyard. Grow the vegetables and fruits your family loves; keep bees; raise chickens, goats, or even a cow. The Backyard Homestead shows you how it's done. And when the harvest is in, you'll learn how to cook, preserve, cure, brew, or pickle the fruits of your labor.

From a quarter of an acre, you can harvest 1,400 eggs, 50 pounds of wheat, 60 pounds of fruit, 2,000 pounds of vegetables, 280 pounds of pork, 75 pounds of nuts."

Book Review ::
I have always enjoyed the thought of producing your home-grown food in your own backyard and the idea of making things yourself like cheese, ice-cream, butter, etc. I just love the homesteading premise and though I've not been able to put it into much practice since we don't have a lot of land, we have recently endeavored to plant a garden and raise chickens, and I found this book very helpful in the process of getting advice on both gardening, chicken raising and a bunch of other homesteading related things.

Newman's Own is a wonderful company that sells all natural and organic treats ranging in a wide variety of foods from cookies to pretzels, to chocolate! Today for our Monday feature Newman's Own Organics was so kind to send me some of their products to review and giveaway!

// T h e    P r o d u c t    R e v i e w //
When I received my 7 pound box of review items from Newman's Own Organic, I was quite surprised at just how much was sent for our review! I have never before had such a great selection of review products to try out-and full sized too! It is by far the best food product review I have ever done as far as the amount of full-sized products sent to me for the review.

{Please ignore the horrible photos! Sorry about that!}
 In all I received 18 different products to try, and since I come from a large family of 8, I had lots of helpers who were more than eager to help out with this review. ;) Since there was an abundance to items to share my thoughts on, I think I'll go through by category or sections to make the review run smoother. I'll also share some brief thoughts on each product and them my overall thoughts at the end, and then I have a giveaway set up for your guys! So here we go!

Giveaway :: The North Way Studio

{ A b o u t    T h e    S h o p }

The North Way Studio began as a knitting venture to pass the time in the winter of 2011, when the idea first blossomed. Although the shop remained empty until spring of 2012, I was busy fondling squishy yarns and envisioning extravagant Fair Isle designs. Of course, a few wire wrapped pieces were sprinkled in here and there. It wasn't until opening that I realized how much I truly enjoyed creating pieces of jewelry.
So, overnight, the shop morphed.

Instead of knitted goods, the store became dedicated to heirloom stones and metal working. My obsession for gemstones came hurdling out of my mind and into reality, resulting in hours of searching for the perfect specimens over too much espresso and coffee. It became, and still is, my sole addiction to whittle away the hours.

Meanwhile, a forbidden love continues to claim her heart, putting everyone’s plans in danger. And as Cora stays one step ahead of it all, what might need the most protection is her own heart, torn between the dramatic pursuit of a dashing Frenchman and a man who has been quietly staking claim to her affections all along. Love has dangers all its own. She must escape the bonds of the past and discover the faith to make the right choices, as each one has grave consequences.

Product Review :: eShakti

For readers who have been following Giveaways of Blessing for a while, you may remember when I introduced you guys to the wonderful women's online clothing shop eShakti back a couple months ago! eShakti is a online clothing site that is super unique because they offer special alterations and custom sizing on all their items! So what does this mean? Well basically if you see a clothing item that you love, and really want but you'd prefer it be changed a bit like the length or sleeves, then you can order it custom to your preferences with the different options available! If you like a shirt but don't like the sleeves, then check out the options for cap sleeves, or quarter-sleeve!This site is also wonderful for ladies that are harder to fit when it comes to clothing, since you can give them your measurements and they'll make the item custom to fit you! Pretty cool huh? I sure think so, and the neat thing is unlike expensive tailors, special alterations and custom sizing on an eShakti item start at only $7.50 extra to the normal item price! Oh, and I forgot to mention that they have such a wonderful variety of options-they are sure to have something just for you!
In fact, they just came out with a sweet new spring line of multiple clothing choices that are perfect for getting you in the spring spirit and help you spring into spring. :) They have a super cute selection of both dresses, shirts as well as skirts! Now while spring hasn't officially started yet, it is right around the corner! Here is a little peek at a few of the many spring items available on eShakti right now!

About The Shop ::

Dorothy Jane is the perfect shop for ladies who love all things vintage! Here is a bit about Dorothy Jane, taken from the etsy shop:

"If you love Jane Austen, Paris or shabby colors, you have come to the right place. I fashion art journals and gifts tags from antique ephemera which I collect or license. I love 19th century literature and fashions and so I try to design items that combine them both. In addition to Jane Austen, the Brontes are a favorite. I originally designed what I imagined to be Jane Austen's Journal and it grew into handmade Victorian Journals, Paris Art Journals and gift tags."

So, if you are, like me, a old-fashioned nut who loves everything vintage, feminine, Jane- Jane Austen, and Jane Eyre, then you need to know about this shop! According to the Global Denim Project, “On any given day nearly half the world's population is wearing blue jeans.” That’s a lot of denim! Yet, why is it hard to find a modest, stylish, flattering skirt that resembles jeans for those of us who like skirts? And forget cheap.

There’s an answer, if you’re willing to exchange some elbow grease for affordability! This eBook guides you each step of the way, making it easy to craft a custom denim skirt for you or a friend. Is denim hard to work with? Not at all! It is thicker than most fabrics, but it has little stretch, is very forgiving, and oh so durable. These skirts last forever and only get better with wear. Denim has the unique quality of becoming more attractive the more worn it gets. For these skirts, that means the waistband conforms to flatter and fit you exactly, the seams are accentuated by fading in the relaxed, fabulous style of “authenticity” as it is called in the fashion world, and the skirt’s hang remains modest and complimentary.
