Interview ::

Giveaways of Blessing :: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your shop Bonny Blue?

Atlanta :: Well, my name is Atlanta and I live on a ranch in Texas. I am engaged to a wonderful man named Jordan, and we are getting married next spring when I will be moving to Tennessee.

I've had my Etsy shop, Bonny Blue Arts, for over 3 years, and have very much enjoyed sewing historical clothing and costumes to sell.

Giveaways of Blessing :: Why did you choose the name Bonny Blue?

Atlanta :: Our shop name is inspired by one of the many flags of the Confederate States of America, the single star ‘Bonny Blue Flag’.

Giveaways of Blessing :: What is your favorite thing about having an online business?

Atlanta :: The freedom of schedule and being able to be at home and around my family as I work, are both the best! :)

Giveaways of Blessing :: How long have you been sewing? Why do you enjoy it?

Atlanta :: I've been sewing for about 9 years, since I was 14. I have always enjoyed artwork, and to me sewing is a form of wearable art – sketching a design out and then making it come to life! I also love recreating the timeless fashions from the past.

Giveaways of Blessing :: What is your favorite era from the past? Why?

Atlanta :: Well, that’s a tough one. Probably as far as clothing/fashion go, my favorite eras are 1850s/60s America, 900s-1300s Western Europe, 1940s America, and I also really like the everyday fashions from 1910-17, but I haven’t sewn much from that era yet!

Giveaways of Blessing :: Besides sewing, do you have any other hobbies?

Atlanta :: Reading, scrap-booking, drawing/painting, journaling, guitar, piano, gardening to name a few!
